Genetic divergence studies for yield and quality traits in high protein landraces of rice (Oryza sativa L.)

The present study was undertaken to the extent of genetic diversity in high protein rice landraces with respect yield, yield components and quality characters. In this direction, 30 landraces, collected from different parts country by ICAR-Indian Institute Rice Research (ICAR-IIRR), Hyderabad along check, CR DHAN 310 were evaluated during Kharif 2021 at ICAR-IIRR farm located International Crops Semi Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Hyderabad. examined divergence cultures for nutritional parameters. Multivariate analysis techniques Mahalanobis D2 Principal Component Analysis (PCA) used estimate experimental material. D2, 31 divided into six clusters. Cluster I had highest number (19), followed III V five, four cultures, respectively. clusters, II, IV, VI mono-genotypic. It discovered that grouping these several clusters random not related geographical diversity. Inter-cluster distances between maximum. also exhibited higher intra-cluster distance. Further, showed maximum plant-1, grains per panicle-1, zinc content test weight, while, recorded content. greatest contribution plant-1 (21.60%), iron (10.54%) (9.54%). Analysis, first five Components (PCs) eigen values >1 accounted cumulative 67.69% total variability. three traits, content, amylose contributed most 2D scatter diagram 18 out which 11 Statistic PCA concluded JAK 248-3 638 611.
